Hi, I'm DeAnn

Representative DeAnn Vaught is serving her fourth term in the Arkansas House. She represents District 87 which includes all of Little River County,  Sevier County, and part of Howard County including the city of Dierks.

For the 93rd General Assembly, Rep. Vaught serves as Chairperson of the House Committee on Agriculture, Forestry & Economic Development. She also serves on the House Rules Committee, the House Education Committee, and the Arkansas Legislative Council. She serves as Co-Chair of Policy Development on Arkansas Legislative Council, and she has served as the Co-Chair of Prayer Caucus for 4 years.  She is a member and secretary of the House of Representatives Sportsman’s Caucus. The Governor appointed her to be a Commissioner on the Education Commission of the States, where only 165 legislators across the United States are appointed.

Rep. Vaught graduated from Horatio High School and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Business from Southern Arkansas University.  DeAnn and her husband have 12 chicken houses, a dairy and hog farm in Horatio.

She attends church at First Baptist and believes in Christian values. She is pro-life, pro-gun rights, and believes in fighting to keep our 1st amendment rights. She has worked hard to make sure our rural values are heard in Little Rock.

She is a mother of three daughters and resides in Horatio with her husband, Jon.   They have been happily married for 32 years!

During a press release in 2017, DeAnn stated:

“Representing our communities has been an absolute honor, I’ve enjoyed meeting people from around the district and listening to their concerns about government.  If re-elected, I will continue to remain accessible to my constituents.  It doesn’t matter if there is a need to change legislation or you just need someone to pray with you, my door is always open.”

Vaught was asked to join the House Leadership team in January 2017 and is currently the Chair of House Management, the first female to ever hold this position.
